Every figure on this site is attributed to a specific source. The table below lists each source, its cadence, and how we pull from it. Each datapoint on console pages links back to the original publication.

Known gaps
- Xbox units: Microsoft stopped reporting Xbox unit sales in 2015. All Xbox unit totals on this site are analyst estimates.
- Steam Deck: Valve has never publicly disclosed unit sales. Figures are press-cited analyst estimates.
- PC handhelds (ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw, AYANEO, GPD, OneXPlayer): None of these vendors break out handheld units. Figures are estimates where available, often several quarters stale.
- Region breakdowns: Japan has the strongest public data (Famitsu). Americas/EMEA depend on Circana (NPD) / Ampere press releases. APAC-ex-Japan is sparse.
